The immediate term business model could be Teddy Ruxpin repair. Despite the plethora of information of how to fix it yourself available online, searching charge for Teddy Ruxpin repair makes apparent that there is more demand to fix these classic toys than there is a supply of reputable sources doing the repair.

My favorite is Dr. Eeyore's Hospital (http://www.dreeyoreshospital.net/), which I in fact used in 2004 when the Teddy Ruxpin I gave my niece got this unnerving twitch in its eye. When putting a patch over that eye did not succeed in charming this toddler out of being freaked out by it, I ended up sending it to Dr. Eeyore. He was very nice and fixed it for a fair price for the market, and you can see on his website that he's clearly not just doing it for the cash. But, repairs for this thing with minor problems was like $70 and for more experimental procedures - who knows what people out there charge? I see there's a more recent Teddy Ruxpin now with cartridges instead of cassette tapes and easier controls.

Beginning with repair as a business model has the advantage of learning by reverse engineering rather than from scratch. And this way, we can even anticipate the ways in which they tend to break - even when in the merciless hands of a 3-year old.www.dreeyoreshospital.net/
