[sudo-discuss] Fwd: [hackerspaces] Radio Shack Hackerspace Challenge seeks challenger

basically need 6 specialized active components to drive the thing - 2x RGB LED strips, DS1307 realtime clock (or preferably the one that has internal battery), ULN2003 power transistor array, atmega328p and resonator.

interface is the tricky part, but the part where we could add ooohs and aaahs

I like the idea of a sunrise alarm. We don't have to create something that will charge the world, just something cool, simple, and easy to relate to. I'm sure the fact that the laser harp related to way more people than an arduino shooting range helped it win. It would also be a plus if what ever we make were fairly easy to replicate (ie. not using any super specialized parts).

Hi All,
>Here's an idea, how about a Star Trek like Tricorder? It would be crazy tough (lots of different tech fields and medicine) but super nerdy, awesome and there are already some great prototypes out there. Plus if we're successful we can also win the star trek tricorder prize :)
