[sudo-discuss] Fwd: [Noisebridge-discuss] Panic! Noisebridge will close down in July UNLESS YOU READ ALL OF THIS EMAIL (Part 1 of many)

Danny's email is right on. All the more so because he's sounded the
fire alarm before the building burns down.

If they can do it on $10 per member per month, that's affordable to
anyone, and it's a real test of whether people value the place enough to
keep it going.

Do we have a graph or some numbers showing a possible tradeoff between
number of members and amount per member per month? For example how many
more people do we need before we're able to get dues down below
$20/month? That could become a recruitment goal.

Also I wonder about collecting $$ from nonmembers who attend big
events? A lot of us have talents that could be used to create events
that could help support the space.

We got tons of publicity around the lock-picking event. I'm clueless
about whether we're publicizing other events, but if there are channels
for free publicity (such as the Mayor's newsletter or whatever it was
that stirred up the stinkypoo about the lock-picking event), there's an
opening for other events that can generate income.

And what about this: creating mobile device apps that can be sold online
in the usual places?

Think of all the truly dumb sh-- apps out there that are earning oodles
of money. We can do better. Is there anyone here with app coder skills?

-G.
