hey romy,

how long will she be in town for? i'd be happy to meet with her, but i am
leaving town today and will only be back on the afternoon of the 2nd.

she might want to consult
http://www.adafruit.com/blog/2012/11/12/how-to-start-a-hackerspace/ and
http://hackerspaces.org/wiki/Design_Patterns. my advice would be to start
by finding others (at least one other person) in her area who is as
fanatical about the idea as she is, someone who shares a similar vision and
that she can work with. if she needs materials to help other people see the
vision, load her up with sudo stuff, take her to nb..give her things that
she can tell other people.

also, for how tech can be used in a fun setting,
http://www.instructables.com/ is pretty great. and having workshops in
existing spaces is a great way to see how much enthusiasm there would be
for a hackerspace in her area, build more enthusiasm, and potentially find
collaborators.

hope this is helpful..if you want to give her my email, i'd be happy to
answer any questions she might have once she leaves.
